Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook are moving closer to establishing a potential friendship.
Are you one of the many individuals who rely on Google Calendar for personal matters and Microsoft Outlook for work-related tasks? Or perhaps you face difficulties when attempting to send invitations from Google Calendar to your colleagues who use Microsoft Outlook? Do you find yourself constantly switching between these two applications to manage your schedule? Thankfully, a solution has finally emerged.
On May 15, Google and Microsoft jointly announced that their calendar apps will now offer improved integration capabilities.
“Calendar Interoperability plays a crucial role in ensuring that events created in one calendar system are accurately propagated for guests using different systems,” stated Google in its blog. “This allows you to efficiently schedule and collaboratively manage your time, regardless of the platform you use for calendaring.”
As a result, individuals who utilize both Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook with the same email address can now receive Google Calendar invitations and RSVPs directly within Outlook for the same calendar. Outlook will provide reminders for events created in Google Calendar, and recurring events from Outlook will automatically update on your Google Calendar.
These new features will make it easier to stay informed about your schedule, and they are likely to simplify the process of scheduling appointments. However, it also means you will have fewer excuses for missing a meeting.
